Western Governor's Association Meeting
Western Governors Pledge to Protect Wildlife Corridors
Do we want everywhere in the West to look like this? Photo of Jonah Field, Wyoming, by Melanie Stein. Used with permission.
In July 2008, the Western Governors Association held its annual meeting in Wyoming. At this meeting the governors addressed concerns about oil and gas drilling destroying wildlife habitat, and pledged to work to protect the important wildlife corridors in their respective states. In states like Colorado and Wyoming, migration routes for wildlife like antelope are particularly threatened by oil and gas drilling.

restrictions!
